Kate Lycett: Telling Stories. Painting a Narrative.

Saturday 12th March 7:30pm at Hebden Bridge Town Hall

Kate will talk about how stories unfold, develop and change direction during painting projects. How a picture can tell a story, and how it can inspire or evoke one. From the Lost Houses to the Nightingale Project, and to what comes next: following Calder Valley fortunes through the power of the water.

Background: Kate is a Hebden Bridge based artist best known for painting landscapes and architecture in beautiful colours. Originally from Suffolk, Kate came North to study, and then work in the textile Industry. As the industry largely disappeared, she turned more to painting, but the textile elements are always present in her work. Her paintings are instantly recognisable and highly sought after. They are held in public and private collections all over the world.
